Rebel is a great silage or dual purpose option in northern areas. She moves south well in late-planting situations. She does best in a more managed situation and is a great option following soybeans.
Planting: Rebel has fast emergence. We recommend to plant at standard populations for the area, though higher populations are tolerated. Rebel is a good choice for narrow (0.5m) rows. Seed fungicide is recommended. Rebel is not recommended for corn following corn rotations. She moves south well for late planting situations but does not like very wet soils.
Early Season: Rebel grows tall quickly. Her upright leaves do not close the canopy quickly. Watch for weed pressure until the canopy closes.
Mid Season: Rebel flowers late for maturity and has a shorter grain-filling period. She responds well to foliar fungicide.
Late Season: Rebel is taller with upright leaf structure. She will be among the tallest of her maturity. The root system is large enough to support this height.
Harvest: Rebel has deeper kernels and good testweight. She stands well for a big hybrid.
