Lola

Lola is a very tough high-yielding early hybrid that can expand the corn-growing region north. She grows quickly in early spring, especially in cold soil, and flowers early maturity. Lola will respond well under irrigation.

  • Planting: Lola is a fast-emerging hybrid good for cold tough soils. Seed fungicide is recommended. The ear size does flex with planting population. Plant at standard populations for the growing area, but Lola will also do very well at lower populations.
  • Early Season: Lola grows rapidly  in the early season and closes the leaf canopy early. She develops a strong root system.
  • Mid Season: Lola flowers early to allow for a longer grain-filling period. Check for leaf disease, and spray fungicide if needed.
  • Late Season: Lola is a taller hybrid and can set two ears per plant.
  • Harvest - Lola stands well in the fall and dries down well.

Has a fast start in cold soil. Flowers early for maturity. Maintains plant health to harvest. Has good ear flex.
